A caulk saver backer rod is a foam rod that fills wide gaps and cracks before you apply caulk or sealant on top. This Frost King C23H model reduces the amount of expensive caulk you need to use while creating a firm base for your sealant. The flexible polyfoam rod is pressed into place, then caulk is applied over it.

The moisture-repellent polyfoam construction works with virtually every type of caulk and sealant on the market, making it a universal solution for gap preparation. Also referred to as backer rod, it is an essential tool for preparing large openings and gaps before sealing, helping you save money on caulk while ensuring a professional result.
